In July 2021, a group of KONE Thailand employees initiated a fundraising campaign aimed at helping Zero-to-Hero Foundation purchase tablets to support children’s learning during the pandemic.

Zero-to-Hero Foundation is a non-profit organization, providing active-learning-based educational programs to children in Na Yom village, Thailand. Due to the pandemic, many children in the village cannot access remote learning. The Zero-to-Hero team work closely with families to support children carrying on learning.

The fundraising campaign successfully raised 30,680 THB (787 euros). Forty-one employees from KONE Thailand were motivated to make contributions. The fundraising effort drew down matching funds from KONE Centennial Foundation (KCF), which doubled the total contribution to 61,360 THB (1,574 euros).

KCF has set aside 25,000 € in matching funds to double the impact of KONE employees’ charitable giving to local projects serving children and youth in need in 2021. KONE Thailand’s employees’ example shows how this can work.
