2026 also marks the 10th Anniversary of the Partnership between the Hangzhou Public Library Children Theme Branch Library and the Children’s Mobile Library.
The Mobile Library’s collaboration with the Hangzhou Public Library Children Theme Branch Library was established in 2016 with a shared goal: bringing the joy of reading to children who cannot access the main library services because of physical, social, geographic or economic barriers. It has been inspiring to see how this partnership has enabled the Mobile Library to work as an extension of the public library system, bringing high-quality and diverse reading resources to migrant children in urban areas, and schools in rural Hangzhou.
In addition, the collaboration has successfully integrated the dynamic outreach of the Mobile Library with the public library digital lending system and other library programs. This integration has provided thousands of children with their very first experience accessing library services right at their school or in their neighborhood and has helped spark a love of reading across the region!
The Celebration
On 26th March 2026, the Mobile Library team and the representatives from the Hangzhou Public Library Children Theme Branch Library gathered at the Fun Chun Jiang Primary School in Tong Lu, to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the partnership.
The Hangzhou Public Library Children Theme Branch Library prepared a special gift for the celebration: the “Mobile Library of My Dreams” gallery collected paintings created by children from different schools in Hangzhou who have benefited from the Mobile Library’s service over the years.
The artworks showcased the limitless imagination of children, featuring their “dream” versions of the mobile library, including a space travel mobile library, a submarine mobile library, a mobile library with a garden on the roof, and a camping adventure mobile library, etc.
