The Children’s Mobile Library Project’s 15th Anniversary

2026 marks the 15th anniversary of the Children’s Mobile Library Project. It is also a milestone for the 15 years collaboration between the KONE Centennial Foundation (KCF) and KONE China.

The “Joy of Reading" Children's Mobile Library was KCF's first project in partnership with KONE China. The Mobile Library was designed with the help of Finnish library professionals and launched in 2011. 

Since then, the Mobile Library has traveled over 100,000 km, and visited 40 cities across China. On its journey, the Mobile Library has brought quality children's literature to over 280 schools in urban and remote areas and served over 140,000 children. 

To commemorate the occasion, the Children’s Mobile Library was invited to participate in KONE China’s 30th Anniversary celebration held on 26th March 2026 at the KONE Park in Kunshan City. Its presence served as a tribute to the long-standing partnership and a shared commitment to supporting children and young people in the local community.

As the project moves beyond its 15th Anniversary, the Mobile Library will continue delivering its mission of bringing the Joy of Reading to children.
