A Heartfelt Tribute to John Simon
Dear Friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our former board member, John Simon, on 17th July 2025.
John was the co-founder of the KONE Centennial Foundation (KCF). He made significant contributions to defining the Foundation’s mission, and his impact on the development of KCF-funded projects will be profound and long-lasting.
Since 2010, John has been deeply involved in KCF’s work of supporting community-based projects in South Africa, Thailand, India, Mexico, China and Finland. He worked closely with local community members to support them in their efforts to help underprivileged children and youths in their own way. He strongly believed that a focus on building capacity among locals was a core part of KCF’s project involvement and he worked tirelessly with project members to achieve their goals.
John will be deeply missed by all members at the KONE Centennial Foundation, as well as by the staff of KCF-funded projects.
