Dick Solomons, a qualified Social Auxiliary Worker, a qualified Computer and Call Centre Training Facilitator with experience in Customer Care and Call Centre, has been working as an End-User Computing Facilitator for over five years at the Westbury Youth Centre (WYC).

The End-User Computing program at the Westbury Youth Centre equips young people with basic knowledge and understanding of using ICT (information and communications technology) in an organization. It emphasizes building up skills, including using Microsoft Word processing, Excel, Powerpoint, Components, Internet and Email. As the program’s facilitator, Dick has supported many students' learning and transitions in becoming successful job seekers. The End-User Computing program is an accredited program through a partner but the WYC is in the process of obtaining its accreditation for this particular program.

Dick is also the founder of Upgrade, an end-user computing skills program for adults. Upgrade also covers basics, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and computer components. The intention of the program is to give adults and youth out of school the opportunity to refresh and update their computer literacy.

Master Solomons, as he is known by his colleagues and students, registered Upgrade through the assistance, guidance, and mentoring of the SAIS 2 Team. He has since secured a major client and has even employed someone to assist him in further growing his business.
